Summit Learning Institute® Virtual School (SLIVS) is an online private school where middle and high school students can enroll and learn from anywhere in the U.S. SLIVS was launched in February 2025 by Co-Founders Dr. NNeka Allen-Harrison, Ed.D., and Dr. Chris Harrison, Ed.D., a husband-and-wife team committed to ensuring every child receives a quality education and learning experience.

Our Story & Motivation

The Founders & Their Children

The Co-Founders have over 25 years of experience in online learning, homeschooling, K-12, STEM learning, post-secondary education, and educational research and evaluation. They successfully provided online home education to their three children, graduating each of them from high school at the age of 16.

Two of their children earned merit-based scholarships to college and graduated in four years with honors.

Their oldest daughter is married and working for a cybersecurity company in the marketing division. After working for one of Silicon Valley's top 3 tech companies for 3 years, their son is approaching A.B.D. status while on a full-tuition paid fellowship in a PhD program in the University of California system.

Their youngest daughter, who also earned several merit-based scholarships, is completing her undergraduate studies with a 4.0 GPA at an HBCU.

Our mission is to provide flexible, student-centered learning experiences that integrate rigorous academics, career-oriented learning pathways, and college-preparatory courses. Through strong partnerships with parents, schools, nonprofits, and community organizations, we ensure that every learner—regardless of background—has the support necessary to thrive personally and academically as a lifelong learner.

Created in 2004, Imagine Learning Excellence Academy (ILEA), a subsidiary of Imagine Learnng LLC, partners with Summit Learning Institute® Virtual School to deliver a cutting-edge, 21st-century private virtual education experience to middle and high school students throughout the United States.

Flexibility | Differentiated Learning | Student-Centered

SLIVS offers differentiated learning experiences for students including exceptional and gifted learners. Students are able to move through the online curriculum at a normal or accelerated pace for early online course completion. This provides students the opportunity to take on more advanced and challenging coursework if desired. Students have access to online resources such as text-to-speech features, pre-recorded video-based teaching, asynchronous daily instruction provided by a qualified and credentialed teacher, online and on-demand 1:1 tutoring via chat, group tutoring via video, whiteboard, phone, and more. SLIVS also offers access to unique and rigorous courses that may not be available in local school districts to provide students with the chance to explore subjects that match their interests and academic abilities.
